Britney Spears has released the cover image and tracklist for her upcoming album, Circus, on her official website. Britney has attempted to create a more controlled and together image in the press with videos and photos on her site and it seems to be working. Last week we saw two workout videos of Britney, one in which she lifted weights with her trainer and another that had her out running with her mom.

All these official photos from Britney mean there’s less paparazzi interest in her, which is likely a good thing for her well being and sanity, although she’s not getting the constant press she used to. A couple of weeks ago Britney tried to escape photographers waiting outside her estate by hitching a ride with her gardener. The paparazzi were quickly tipped off by the fact that her bodyguard was following the landscaper’s truck. Britney laughed it off when she was discovered, but she must have had several paparazzi-free days after that incident because we just haven’t seen as many photos of her.

She’s creating an image that draws on the sexy Britney of days past, but mature and more world-weary. She hardly looks like herself on the cover of her album, but that’s because she’s already morphed into Britney 2.0. It’s her circus, and she’s in charge of choreography and costumes now.

Circus is out in stores on December 2. Here’s the tracklist. Britney’s site also mentions that the next single will be the song “Circus.”

Simon Cowell has confirmed rumors that Britney will appear on his UK talent show X Factor. Britney is set to perform songs from her upcoming album at the end of the month. Simon said “I’m really excited about it, because she has got her act together and the new record is terrific. She has come back from a very dark place and is a terrific artist.”

Britney Spears was all smiles as her and her two boys, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, were spotted out at Mr. Bones pumpkin patch in LA. Mr. Bones is a favorite Halloween destination for celebrity families, and has been visited by Tori Spelling, Marcia Cross, Tobey Maguire, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale.

Britney was accompanied by her bodyguard, assistant, and the boys’ nanny. Britney’s boys were wearing matching red, white and blue striped short sleeve polo shirts with blue shorts. At one point a child dressed in just underwear came up to Sean Preston, who looked amused.

While Jayden and Sean Preston have been seen out with other nannies, Britney went back to using the same nanny she had when Sean Preston was just a baby. It must be nice for the boys to have some consistency in their caregivers given all the drama they’ve gone through. Kids are resilient, though, and given how young Britney’s kids are they probably don’t remember the time they weren’t able to see much of their mom.

The kids were excited and Britney couldn’t be happier to see her kids smiling. She was so happy and compassionate and even helped them pick out a small pumpkin that they could each carry. It’s good to see Brit out with the kids, she obviously loves them to death! She’s back in shape, looking better then ever, all smiles and spending quality time with the little ones, looks like the Britney we all know and love is back!

Did anyone believe Lynne Spears’ new book was actually going to be an inspirational tale of parenting? As expected, the stage mom’s memoir throws Britney under the bus and dishes out all the inside dirt on Brit Brit’s life. Lynne Spears is always trying to make an extra buck, apparently she could careless how Britney feels about any of this! That’s pretty fucked up considering this is her own mother who’s releasing this book, not a mortal enemy or a lover gone bad….her own mother! WTF is up with that?! A parent is someone who should know all the bullshit you went through growing up and should keep it….what’s that word I’m looking for……oh yeah PRIVATE!!! Lynne says she knew that Britney was having sex at age 14 with her 18-year-old boyfriend, but she turned a blind eye to it because she thought that dating an older boy would help make Britney more popular. Lynne also knew that Britney was drinking at 13, but didn’t see it as a problem at the time because Brit was drinking with her older brother Bryan, basically saying; she could careless once again. With those great parenting skills, selling her daughter out every chance she gets and constantly trying to benefit of her daughters mishaps….Is it any wonder that Britney ended up in a mental ward and her younger sister ended up pregnant at 16? Call me crazy but Brit’s own mother releasing this tell all book is bullshit; no wonder Brit and her mother are so estranged…! This entire tell all book released by Lynn Spears really pisses me off and I’m not Britney; can you even begin to imagine how Britney must feel about this?! She’s officially publicly been betrayed by her own mother, she can’t even trust her own mother to keep her fucking mouth shut! I honestly could care less what Brit did when she was younger, she’s obviously learned from it, worked hard to turn her life around and here comes Lynne to knock her own daughter down to a breaking point with a fucking tell all book! Obviously Lynne was a crappy mother and Brit made some mistakes along the way just like everyone else; Brit’s improved tremendously but I can’t say the same about Lynne. Honestly, that’s so fucked up of Lynn Spears, really though; was it really necessary to write about it and take your daughter down with you? Absolutely not! Who does that? Just Lynn Spears apparently. Poor Brit, hasn’t she been through enough?! I’d never thought I’d be the one actually siding with Chris Crocker on this one and saying those famous last words, “LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!”

Of course, all of this juicy gossip is framed within a point of view of “If only I’d known better,” but the purpose is pretty transparent: Lynne just can’t stop herself from trying to profit off her famous daughters. It’s not surprising that Lynne showed spectacularly bad judgment during Britney’s younger years. But what I can’t understand is why Lynne would publish this information now. Britney and her mother were estranged for a long time, and only recently have they been able to repair that relationship. How is this book going to help? I guess it just goes to show that Britney really can’t trust anyone- not even members of her own family. No wonder she’s such a mess!

Britney Spears celebrated the finalization of her custody battle by going on vacation with Palms Hotel & Casino owner George Maloof, Jr. The vacation seems to be professional and/or platonic – Britney’s been rumored to be in negotiations to star in a Vegas show, and she and Maloof have been friends for years. And she was photographed dancing and flirting with another (hotter) mystery guy. The two were goofing around poolside, with Britney in a bikini. All that working out has done her a lot of good – she looks much healthier than she did a few months ago.

With her custody drama with Kevin Federline finally over, Britney Spears is back in shape and ready for fun.

The party later moved to the beach, where Britney frolicked on the foreshore before cooling her heels in the sea. She was in high spirits and having a blast. Move over and make room ‘cause the Britster’s back ya’ll!

Henry Rollins revealed in an interview that Britney Spears isn’t the only one singing on those repetitive video game soundtracks she’s been releasing lately. Rollins says that it’s an “older R&B woman” mixed in with Britney’s voice because Britney “just has no feel.” “They have a black chick with an awesome voice come in and sing, and Britney sings over it, then they mix them together,” said Rollins, who has his own talk show on IFC. Britney apparently isn’t actually the worst singer, she just has no feel. So they bring in this older soul woman who can sing the song, then Britney sings to it, and they kind of make a mix of the two voices, and that’s what you hear on the records.” Maybe I’m naïve, but I thought they had enough sound wizardry to make anyone sound good without having to blend their voice into another singer’s. Obviously Britney’ no Jessica Simpson, it’s really the stage shows and her brand that made her famous. Now that she’s looking more like a mom she’s really struggled with her identity along with her sanity and doesn’t seem to know who she is if she’s not grinding on stage in a half top. Britney gradually seems to be coming to terms with everything, but it explains a lot if that’s not even all her own voice on her crappy records. She must feel like a fraud, but maybe she’s been pushed every which way her entire career and she just thinks that’s part of the bargain.

UCLA Medical Center has fired 13 workers, will suspend six more, and is set to discipline six doctors for looking at Britney’s confidential medical records while she was hospitalized there, without authorization.
The LA Times reports that in addition to these firings, at least six doctors will face disciplinary action for snooping into her computerized records at the hospital.
